Asymptotically extremal polynomials with respect to varying weights and application to Sobolev orthogonality
9 pages, no figures.-- MSC2000 code: 33C45.MR#: MR2431543 (2009g:41009)Zbl#: Zbl 1155.33006We study the asymptotic behavior of the zeros of a sequence of polynomials whose weighted norms, with respect to a sequence of weight functions, have the same th root asymptotic behavior as the weighted norms of certain extremal polynomials. This result is applied to obtain the (contracted) weak zero distribution for orthogonal polynomials with respect to a Sobolev inner product with exponential weights of the form e−φ(x), giving a unified treatment for the so-called Freud (i.e., when φ has polynomial growth at infinity) and Erdös (when φ grows faster than any polynomial at infinity) cases. In addition, we provide a new proof for the bound of the distance of the zeros to the convex hull of the support for these Sobolev orthogonal polynomials.Research by first two authors (C.D.M. and R.O.) was partially supported by Dirección General de Investigación, Ministerio de Ciencia y TecnologÃa of Spain, under grants MTM2005-08571 and

On -differential graded algebras
We introduce the concept of -differential graded algebras (N-dga), and
study the moduli space of deformations of the differential of a N-dga. We prove
that it is controlled by what we call the N-Maurer-Cartan equation
A Transformation-based Implementation for CLP with Qualification and Proximity
Uncertainty in logic programming has been widely investigated in the last
decades, leading to multiple extensions of the classical LP paradigm. However,
few of these are designed as extensions of the well-established and powerful
CLP scheme for Constraint Logic Programming. In a previous work we have
proposed the SQCLP (proximity-based qualified constraint logic programming)
scheme as a quite expressive extension of CLP with support for qualification
values and proximity relations as generalizations of uncertainty values and
similarity relations, respectively. In this paper we provide a transformation
technique for transforming SQCLP programs and goals into semantically
equivalent CLP programs and goals, and a practical Prolog-based implementation
of some particularly useful instances of the SQCLP scheme. We also illustrate,
by showing some simple-and working-examples, how the prototype can be
effectively used as a tool for solving problems where qualification values and
proximity relations play a key role. Intended use of SQCLP includes flexible
information retrieval applications.Comment: 49 pages, 5 figures, 1 table, preliminary version of an article of
